Hot summer, low productivity?




This summer is the hottest I have ever seen. Due to this fact the productivity has achieved low levels in every industry. Obviously, the Internet industry has suffered these days. Many of my friends, and I confess too, have problems in keeping up with the blog posting or promoting activities.

I have always tried to understand why the summer blows our working appetite. Comparing the situation with the winter, I would say the high temperature is the guilty factor. Some consider vacations the first option, but let’s not forget that people go on holidays in all seasons. During the hot summers we tend to relax more than we should to. So we neglect the tasks, the jobs and we can’t focus on the daily activities.

Low productivity, low profits

Not keeping a high productivity is bad for your business. The biggest mistake I have seen in blogging is to post without a constant frequency. That could be the reason why the feed subscribers leave your blog. Consequently, the blogger looses the traffic and experiences low profits.

Recommendations

1. Daily tasks. The first thing you should do when you observe the lack of productivity appears, is to write down the daily tasks. The goals and tasks established for the entire week or month need to be redistributed daily.

2. Weekend vacations. Leave the crowdy cities or stressing offices for the weekend. Usually I don’t work during weekends, but sometimes I have to. Therefore, in the weekend you should go for a mountain hike or for a pleasant beach sunbathing. You will relief from the stress accumulated over the week.

3. Do sports. Why not relaxing doing your favorite sport? During hot summers a swimming class would do more relaxing than anything else. The swimming cools you down and eliminates the stress. It’s well-known that working under stress decrease the productivity.

4. Healthy eating. Give up to unhealthy foods! Try to consume fresh foods and salads. You will gain energy and power to do all the work.

5. Boosting motivation. A good solution is to keep motivating yourself. I remember a good article of Shoe money where he gathered some motivational clips. After watching that clips you will feel more optimistic and focused. Audio motivational programs have the same effect for a stressed and tired mind.
